Interesuje nas oczywiście tylko część kategorii, więc nie ma sensu podawać wszystkich, ale widać jedno — jest dość kontrowersyjnie. Najwięcej nominacji zgarnęła Beyoncé i jej Lemonade. Poza przedstawionymi poniżej, powalczy też o statuetkę w kategorii Best Music Film. The Life of Pablo Kanye Westa, też został nominowany w siedmiu kategoriach, ale do tej pory nie wiadomo czy Weezy pojawi się na rozdaniu. Cieszą nominacje Chance’a (w sumie pięć), Andersona .Paaka (dwie) i KING, ale jak ktoś słusznie zauważył, Lil’ Yachty może w swojej karierze zdobyć nagrodę szybciej niż Nas.
